Meet Our Team
My calling to become a yoga instructor came after years of working closely with the environment. The Earth has been my greatest teacher of all, and I honor all she has given me through my service as a yoga teacher. Yoga is about energy and movement. Through holding various poses we calm the mind, engage the body, and awaken the spirit.
My training, which is certified by the Yoga Alliance and will be fully complete in February of 2018, is rooted in the traditions and philosophies behind the physical practice of yoga, alignment and foundation of asanas (poses), pranayama (breath work) and meditation.
When I am not teaching yoga, you'll find me working with honeybees. I am co-founder and president of Aunt Bea's Apiary, a 501c3 non-profit organization that educates people of all ages about the importance of pollinating insects through hands on activities and workshops. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Peru State College and have worked as a school guidance counselor and preschool teacher. I have been married to Danny, an educator at Peru State College, for 17 years and we have three children ages 16, 12, and 10.
Yoga has been a part of my life for many years, and my practice has helped me grow stronger, more flexible and fearless, both on and off the mat. Yoga inspires me to live each moment more mindfully.
I completed my 200 hour training with EnergiZen Yoga and Yoga Maya this past summer in the jungle of Costa Rica. Both programs are certified by the Yoga Alliance. Instructors Cynthia Meher and Deborah Krejci passed on their wealth of knowledge in the areas of Vinyasa (flow), Hatha (traditional), Yin, & Yoga Nidra. While I will always be a student of the practice, I am deeply grateful for the loving wisdom my teachers have shared with me.
In class, I aim to combine creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness, and a dose of inspiration to deepen your practice. I seek to help others thrive in life by nurturing body, mind and soul with yoga. My hope is that you step off the mat feeling refreshed, nourished and balanced.
Rock climbing, repelling, white water rafting, cliff jumping, skiing, snowboarding, surfing, hiking, parasailing, race car driving, bungee jumping, kayaking, scuba diving, wake boarding, mountain climbing…Wherever the adventure is you will find me. “Life is short. Live it big!” When I’m not off chasing a new thrill I work alongside my husband, Brett, at our family owned electrical company.
